Charity Beneficiaries
Yearly, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade committee choses a group of Douglas County area children’s charity as the beneficiaries of the funds we raise by holding more than 10 events all leading up to parade day. Once we have our beneficiaries selected, the work really begins as they are involved in every aspect of running our parade and the many charitable events we hold each year.
In 2022, we are very excited to be raising money for:

Lawrence Public Library is a community hub that believes in the power of connecting with each other through shared knowledge and resources. Located in the heart of Downtown Lawrence, they provide space where the community can learn, connect, create and grow through access to its vast collections, resources, services, programs and knowledgeable staff. The library plans to use the Parade funds to augment their children's reading programs, including “Dottie,” its new mobile library.

The Watkins Museum of History is operated by the Douglas County Historical Society, a non-profit organization committed to preserving Douglas County heritage and encouraging civic engagement by sharing stories of the people and events that have shaped our communities.

The Jefferson‘s Foundation is short-term resource for families in crisis. From baby beds to school supplies and from basic day-to-day necessities to medical needs, The Jefferson‘s Foundation seeks to help in an expedited manner when these immediate needs arise. They plan to use the parade‘s donation to further their cause of helping when short-term, immediate needs arise.
We have a complete list of the St. Pat's Beneficiaries since 1988!
From a past charity:
To say that we have already benefited from our experience with the Lawrence St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee would be an understatement. The committee and its “friends in the community” have shown Lawrence Youth Football and its family of friends what wonderful things that can happen when everyone works together for a common cause. The effort put forth by your group is an amazing thing to see and ultimately be a part of. We are forever grateful and thankful to be a benefactor of the Lawrence St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee."
