Charity Beneficiaries
Yearly, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade committee choses a group of Douglas County area children’s charity as the beneficiaries of the funds we raise by holding more than 10 events all leading up to parade day. Once we have our beneficiaries selected, the work really begins as they are involved in every aspect of running our parade and the many charitable events we hold each year.
In 2023, we are very excited to be raising money for:

Cantemos Youth Chorale is a new choir free for children in Douglas County. They offer a vibrant and quality choral music experience for kids grades 3-6, gathering a growing circle of singers who represent richly diverse racial, religious, economic, and cultural backgrounds.

O‘Connell Children‘s Shelter, a recent merger between O‘Connell Youth Ranch and the Lawrence Children‘s Shelter, provides unlocked emergency residential care for youth. Their goal is to assist youth in connecting with family or caregivers that will support and strengthen them to move beyond state custody.

Sunrise Project provides space and opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to build an equitable community through education, good food, and social connection. They provide community meals and gardens and youth programs and so much more.
We have a complete list of the St. Pat's Beneficiaries since 1988!
From a past charity:
To say that we have already benefited from our experience with the Lawrence St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee would be an understatement. The committee and its “friends in the community” have shown Lawrence Youth Football and its family of friends what wonderful things that can happen when everyone works together for a common cause. The effort put forth by your group is an amazing thing to see and ultimately be a part of. We are forever grateful and thankful to be a benefactor of the Lawrence St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee."
